It’s here! It’s here! I am so excited to reveal my new blog design. I’ve wanted an updated look for years now. However, I was hesitant to do it myself. I wanted to hand it over to a professional who I could trust. When I discovered Melissa Bandera at Jelly Design Studio, I was struck right away by her beautiful and airy designs.
Visually, I prefer a minimalist design, but I still wanted something that was warm and welcoming. Melissa captured exactly what I was looking for with a design that is playful and fun while staying clean and streamlined. You can read about what she did on her design blog. Melissa lives in Orlando and is a fellow Disney fan. She posted this blog entry about the top four most romantic spots at Disney World that I’m definitely keeping in mind for the next time David and I are in Florida.
When you get a chance, check out the new About page, recipe index, travel index, Vegan section where you can find all of my posts on the social and practical aspects of going vegan, a printable grocery list, and my collection of cooking/interview/comedy videos. Plus, all of the recipes are now printable for your cooking convenience!
In celebration, let’s raise a glass!
Ever since I got sick in Los Angeles, I have been craving simple, whole foods. For a while I had no appetite at all, and since then I’ve been attracted to smoothies and salads. Add in the warmer spring-like temperatures that are perfect for grilling, and our meals have been even more produce-heavy than usual.
This blueberry banana smoothie is made with just five ingredients: blueberries, bananas, spinach, chia seeds, and cashew milk. I used the new cashew milk from Silk, but feel free to use your preferred non-dairy milk of choice. This mildly sweet smoothie goes down easily. The spinach flavor is totally masked by the fruits. You’d never know it was inside, and the frozen fruit and chia seeds add extra full-bodied viscosity.
