    Jackfruit

    Using young jackfruit in savory meals has become more and more popular over the years. It's amazing how it can emulate the piece-y look of meat.

    You can find canned jackfruit in Asian markets and health food stores.

    For these recipes, be sure to use canned jackfruit that's been packed in water or brine. You don't want to use ripe or syrup-packed jackfruit. The latter is too sweet for these savory recipes.
