Cadry Nelson is the writer, photographer, and recipe creator behind Cadry’s Kitchen, a vegan food & lifestyle blog started in 2009.

If you’re interested in collaborating on brand partnerships, media trips, or sponsored posts, contact me at cadryskitchen@gmail.com. Media kit available upon request.

My recipes range from plant-based staples to vegan comfort food, holiday dinners, cozy weekend breakfasts, air fryer recipes, soups, and more. (Check out my recipe index here.)

Through approachable recipes and pragmatic discussions on the social aspects of being vegan, I show that living a vegan lifestyle is deliciously uncomplicated.

I also offer travel destination guides to highlight vegan dining in cities both large & small.

With a degree in theatre, I worked as a professional actor for over a decade in Los Angeles. I was a cast member at Disneyland, a long-standing member of a renowned touring children’s theatre company, and spent years performing in murder mystery plays on a boat in the Long Beach harbor. I bring that theatrical background to my cooking & travel videos.

As a vegan food & lifestyle blogger, all of my recipes are 100% plant-based, and I use cruelty-free products in my home. I love working with & featuring brands that have the same outlook.

Partnership opportunities include:

  • Sponsored recipe posts/brand ambassadorships/social media promotion
  • Recipe development
  • Freelance writing for your print or web-based publication
  • Travel destination posts & FAM trips
  • Conferences/events – including giving talks at veg fests & doing cooking demonstrations
  • Photography & video

Here’s a sampling of brands I’ve worked with:

Vegan ham with pineapple slices and cherries.

Herbivorous Butcher

Herbivorous Butcher is a well-known vegan meat & cheese-maker in Minneapolis. They also ship products all over the United States.

Here’s what the Herbivorous Butcher had to say about working with me:

“Cadry truly understands our products and knows how to feature them in the best light (literally and figuratively!). She’s professional, friendly, and authentic, and we thoroughly enjoy working with her.”

See my work with the Herbivorous Butcher in the following posts:

  • Hoppy Spring Feast
  • Vegan ham feast with pineapple brown sugar glaze
  • Vegan turkey feast for harvest holiday celebrations
  • Cilantro chimichurri sauce + vegan steak tacos

GoWISE

GoWISE is the maker of kitchen goods like air fryers and high speed blenders.

Here’s what GoWISE had to say about working with me:

“It was always a great experience working with Cadry. She always had a pleasant and friendly demeanor. She had great communication when responding to emails and giving us updates on her posts. She created awesome content every time with high quality photos and was really able to capture the essence of our products.”

Other collaborations include working with Ben & Jerry’s when their vegan ice cream was released. They flew me & several other bloggers to their headquarters in Vermont to taste their non-dairy flavors & get a behind-the-scenes peek at their creations.

Travel collaborations

I also work with tourism boards, restaurants, and hotels on travel guides. My main focus is highlighting vegan options – even in unlikely places!

This article about a blogging trip I was hosted on to McHenry County, Illinois explains how familiarization trips are useful to destinations, and how they help me further my own goals for Cadry’s Kitchen readers.

Here’s what the Cedar Falls Tourism & Visitors Bureau said about working with me:

“It was a pleasure working with Cadry. This summer, we partnered on a feature about vegan eateries in Cedar Falls and the College Hill Arts Festival taking place the same time as her visit. It was a bit of a gloomy weekend, but she made the best of it and stayed upbeat. Cadry was also professional and communicated highlights for her blog, the number of photos to be taken and the number of social platforms to be used in advance of her arrival.”

  • Cedar Falls, Iowa: Vegan food & fun guide
  • Mason City, Iowa: Vegan eats, Music Man & More
  • Vegan Detroit: Two days in Motor City

I also wrote an article for the official 2020 Cedar Rapids Tourism Guide on vegan options in the area. It’s available at tourist centers.
