Crispy air fryer pita chips in 10 minutes (or oven baked)
Get your hummus at the ready. It's time to start dipping! These homemade chips are wonderfully seasoned and taste delicious as a scooper or crunchy salad ingredient. If you don't have an air fryer, see the notes section of the recipe card for alternative oven directions.
Put pita wedges in a big mixing bowl. Top them with lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, dried basil, dried oregano, and granulated onion. Use your hands to toss the pita wedges, and get them evenly coated.
Put the pita into the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400 degrees for 6 to 7 minutes, stopping occasionally to shake the basket.
Once the chips are nicely browned, remove them from the air fryer basket or oven, and serve.

Notes
For a half batch of air fryer chips (with 1 pita): They will need less time in the air fryer. Since the air will have more room to get around all of the bread, it will cook in about half the time - 3 to 4 minutes. (If you're cooking in the oven, the time will stay the same, regardless of batch size.)For crispier chips: Once the pita are cut into wedges, gently pull the front flap from the back, making two chips out of one triangle. The chips will get crunchier, and you'll get twice the amount of dipping for the same amount of bread. For oil-free air fried pita chips: These chips can be made out of one ingredient - pita bread. Just throw the wedges into the air fryer and jump to the cooking instructions. Or if you like, add the lemon juice & seasonings (simply omit the oil).To bake chips in a standard oven:Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Evenly space the pita wedges across the baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, stopping once halfway through to turn the chips over. You want them to be evenly browned on both sides.
