These adorable pizza bagels can be made in 10 minutes in the air fryer. Perfect for lunch in a rush or a games night with friends. (Kids love them too!)Don't have an air fryer? No problem. I give oven directions as well.
TO AIR FRY: Put bagel halves cut side up into the air fryer basket. Toast them without toppings in air fryer at 370 degrees for 2 minutes.Remove bagel halves from basket. Top each bagel half with marinara, vegan pepperoni, chopped bell peppers & onions, and vegan cheese.Return bagel halves to the air fryer. Air fry at 370 degrees for 4 to 5 minutes. (Check at 4 minutes to see if the vegan cheese is melty enough for you. If not, continue one minute longer.)
TO BAKE: Preheat oven to 425°F. Put sliced bagels cut side up on a baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove them from the oven, and turn the oven to broil. Top each bagel half with marinara, vegan pepperoni, chopped bell peppers & onions, and vegan cheese. Return them to the oven. Broil until the cheese has melted, roughly 2 to 4 minutes. (Keep an eye on it, so that it doesn't burn!)
Carefully remove bagel halves from the air fryer basket or oven.
Top each bagel pizza with a pinch of chopped fresh basil or chives (optional). If you like, add a sprinkling of vegan parmesan cheese.The pizzas will be quite hot. So wait a couple of minutes before eating.
Notes
Bagels vary in size, and so adjust any toppings accordingly.If you're making several bagel pizzas, be aware that you'll likely have to cook in batches.With the bagels I used, a 3.7 quart air fryer could hold 2 bagel halves (one bagel), and a 5.8 quart air fryer could hold 3 bagel halves (1 ½ bagels).
