Air fryer garlic bread is the ideal side dish for soup, salad, or pasta. It’s made with just three easy ingredients in 6 minutes. No mincing. No grating. Just slice, slather, sprinkle, and air fry.

I’ve had this “recipe” sitting in a desktop folder for two years. Somehow, I just couldn't get myself to press publish on something so ridiculously easy.
But this air fryer garlic bread recipe is the one I come back to time and again.
It’s what makes salad for dinner a little heartier and more fun. It turns a bowl of soup into a full, cozy meal. It transforms pasta night from perfunctory to a decadent carb fest.
Most air fryer garlic bread recipes involve making a compound butter first – mincing garlic, grating cheese, and/or chopping herbs.
My everyday recipe has none of that. It’s the garlic bread you make when the main course is work enough, or you just don’t have the energy for another task.
When you want warm, crusty bread that’s buttery, garlicky, and delicious from end to end, this is the recipe that will get you there the fastest with the least amount of friction.

Ingredients for air fryer garlic bread
Here are the ingredients you will need to make this recipe.

Baguette: Baguette has a mild flavor that lets the garlic shine. Plus, it gets crusty on the outside while keeping the inside tender. Any store-bought baguette works. (Mine was from Trader Joe's.)
Vegan butter: For easy spreading, choose a soft, non-dairy butter in a tub.
Onion salt: Trader Joe’s onion salt is my go-to, but feel free to use whatever onion salt/seasoning blend you have. Other great alternatives include Penzeys Fox Point (or Justice for a salt-free option).
If your onion salt doesn’t include garlic, add a sprinkle of granulated garlic as well.
Why not garlic salt? You get a lot of herbs and alliums in Trader Joe’s onion salt blend. It includes granulated garlic along with minced onion, kosher salt, green onion, and dried chives.
It adds a wonderfully well-rounded flavor without needing to pull out a variety of jars.
Step by step instructions
This section shows how to make this recipe at a glance with process photos of the steps. For complete ingredient amounts & instructions, keep scrolling to the recipe card below.

1. Cut a baguette down to your preferred size (anywhere from 4 to 8 inches). Then slice it in half, slather with non-dairy butter, sprinkle with onion salt, and swipe with a butter knife to make sure it’s evenly coated.
2. Put the halves into an air fryer basket cut side up, and air fry at 400 degrees for 5 to 6 minutes, until perfectly browned.
Remember: Every air fryer runs differently. Times given are a general recommendation and should be tested in your own air fryer. Adjust as needed.
Make it your own

Ways to personalize your air fryer garlic bread:
- If your onion salt doesn’t include garlic, add a sprinkling of granulated garlic
- For cheesy flavor, add a few generous dashes of vegan parmesan
- To reduce salt, replace onion salt with granulated garlic or a combo of granulated onion and garlic
- For crispier garlic bread, cook longer until browned to your liking
